Ahhh cool, maybe they'll keep on cranking up their sick releases. So is there anyone who can help me with a shirt? I'm naked..... I'll keep an eye out for you, fettah, but I'm definitely bad at finding stuff like this since I usually do quick demo CD/tape hit and runs at the local record stores to avoid going completely broke and becoming homeless. Fucking RUINS!!! I can't believe I left them out.... The most amazing progpunk band EVER! What Man Is The Bastard wished they could be like. Do they still play live or are/is they/Tatsuya Yoshida no longer working under the Ruins banner? A damn shame if they aren't. I would love to see them live. Lucky fucker there, Kent.

Last year bought his "CHATEAU DU AKATEN" cd (with the other guy) and "KOENJI BLA BLA(?)" cd called "Nivraym", a 5 piece with High Rider Jin on guitar.. sounded rather hectic.

Yeah, Kent. I've heard some of that post Ruins stuff. Very MAGMAish. I need to try and hunt some of those CD's down next time I have some cash to spare.
I was at a party last night and me and some other people were laughing over a copy of the Japanese "Tower Records Guide To Punk" and the fact that they totally left Nightmare, GISM and Lipcream out of the J-punk band list. Shit... they left all kinds of shit out. Wacky corporate fuckheads.
And, yet again, I was asked what my favorite Japanese bands were by a large group of Japanese people. This question ALWAYS comes up and it's ALWAYS by members of bands and shit. Not only that, but they pretty much already know what bands I listen to because they asked me the same goddamn question the last time I saw them, yet they seem to think I've changed my mind over a weeks time. I just tell them my favorite band is their band to which they always ask me "what about your band(s)?" to which I reply, "My bands suck." Now I just tell them I only listen to j-hiphop and j-po(o)p and I pinch their nipple. That makes them go away.

Fuck man, just some time ago (like two months) Ruins played with Acid Mothers Temple in Holland, it was one long night with 3 crazy Japanese musicians playing in 5 different line-up's. Totally amazing, even though the 2 AMT guys were drunk as fuck. The bass player for Ruins broke his leg, so he wasn't there, the drummer played along with a sampler, tightest shit ever. I saw them before once, but now it was so amazingly tight and good, I have no words for it. that sond with only snare and one bass note is the best proof of what these two guys can do, genius. The most funny thing is the gig was in some respectable jazzcenter, and me and my friends were smoking pot and taking pictures between the stage and the seated audience, great!!! Pictures are here: home.wanadoo.nl/l-herpt/ARGHH/small%20versions/

wow, this shit is old, but i just recently discovered this board, so i'll add my 2 cents, even though it probably ain't too different from the first few lists:
regardless of time frame:
DEATH SIDE (#1) Lip Cream Tetsu-Arei Nightmare Paintbox Crude Warhead Poison D.S.B Bastard Judgement Rocky & The Sweden Insane Youth Mustang Gauze
i also have a soft spot in my heart for bands like Total Fury, Idol Punch, Tomorrow, Vivisick, etc. but they seriously pale in comparison to the above listed.
i don't really ever listen to GISM either, just not my cup of tea

I can't be bothered listing a bunch of bands already named, suffice it to say that Melt-Banana are my favourite band ever (as I keep saying), and Japanese grind is my favourite music 'scene' in the world so my list would probably be 'Melt-Banana and nineteen grind bands'. Oh, and Ruins. So eighteen grind bands One band which hasn't been mentioned and (I think) deserve it is World. How the fuck they produced that shit with just a drummer and two vocalists I will never know. Also, if Flagitious Idiosyncrasy In The Dilapidation stay as good as they are, they'll be in there too. I rarely listen to that new promo CD-R thing purely because when I DO listen to it, I tend to listen to it seven or eight times in a row, sometimes more. I wanna give the rest of my collection a chace to get heard, y'know?
